The benefit of a cleaner shrimp is that it will clean the tank for you. With this we mean that the shrimp will eat dead skin. If a fish is sick, what it can do is to swim beside the cleaner shrimp so the shrimp can eat the bacteria.
If you are baffled way your aquarium looks dirty or cloudy, there are several possible reasons but there are also existing solutions. I got some (arroy) yummy noodles and a cold drink and ambled through the shaded courtyard towards the Chao Phraya River. On reaching the river I walked down a small pier that was unusually busy. Everyone there it seemed had bought a large bowl of fish food and where throwing it into the river. I looked down and there they were… hundreds upon hundreds of Chao Phraya Catfish or Pla Tepa as they are know locally and Pangasius sanitwongse in the Latin (Don’t you love Wikipedia?).
