First off, your aquarium tanks may be dirty or cloudy because of poor water quality. If the water that you use form your faucet does not pass through a good or reliable filtration system, things can really go wrong. Chemicals used to treat bacteria may also affect the water quality.  Check the nitrate and levels of ammonia in the water you use and then make sure they are on an acceptable level of content.

Second, your aquarium tanks may be cloudy because you are not cleaning it regularly. You should adhere to the scheduled maintenance because these are the right periods in which bacteria may have already thrived. The schedule of cleaning will depend on a lot of things like water quality, size, number of fish, frequency of feeding, and so on.

Another issue or cause of dirty water tanks is poor filtration system. The filtration system is there to maintain cleanliness. It takes the water and filters dirt but if the system itself is inadequate, it cannot perform its job. When buying filtration systems, buy the systems that will match the needs of your aquarium and you should base it on the size of your tank. Once all of these are satisfied, you should expect your tanks to be clean and your fish to be healthy.
